Your Baby – by BabyYours.com
Your baby should have a hearing screening within the first month of life. If hearing loss is suspected, make sure a hearing expert, called an audiologist (aw-dee-AH-luh-jist) tests your baby’s hearing by 3 months of age. Your baby might be very wrinkly. Some babies, especially those born early, are covered in soft, fine hair, which will come off in a couple of weeks.
Your baby’s health care provider can talk to you about the signs of readiness. Usually babies are ready around six months old, and sometimes a little earlier. Your baby may spend about 10–15 minutes on each breast. Your baby’s chin should rest on your shoulder as you support his or her head and back with one hand. With the other hand, gently pat your baby’s back.
Your baby has expanded her repertoire of gestures. She now points and reaches toward something she wants. Your baby may have to stay in the hospital for a long time. You may have to leave the hospital without your baby. Your baby’s eyes are covered to protect them from the bright lights. Phototherapy usually lasts for 1 or 2 days.
Your baby may turn his or her head toward your body (rooting) or start fussing. When s/he is very hungry you will hear that special “I’m hungry” cry.
infant
Infant massage has valuable benefits for both the baby and the care giver that help cultivate a nurturing lifelong relationship. I truly believe in this type of work as it has made an incredible impact in my relationship with my own son and with the relationships of the families I have worked with . Infant car seat is not included with the stroller. Woven fabric and vinyl parts can be cleaned with mild soap and water, wipe dry.
milk
Milk, water, and juice may all be given in a cup instead of a bottle. Do not expect the baby to take much liquid from the cup at first. Milk, formula, juices, and other sweet drinks such as soda all have sugar in them. Sucking on a bottle filled with liquids that have sugar in them can cause tooth decay.
breasts,breast
Breastfeeding stimulates the release of the hormone oxytocin in the mother’s body. Breastmilk is something truly special and beneficial that you can give your baby. And when your baby is ready to suckle, you can start putting him to the breast.
sling,slings
Slings are probably the best item a new mommy can have and it’s probably the number one thing I couldn’t have lived without. Above diapers, above cute clothes, about cribs or toys – a sling and a boob, really is all you need. Slings cost far less than strollers, front-carriers or backpacks. Many mothers consider the sling to be one of their most useful and economical possessions.
